Ghanaian Music star Black Sherif made history on Saturday night, September 2, 2023, by becoming the first artist to win the Best West African Artiste Of the Year award at the Nigerian Headies Awards.
The awards ceremony was held in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. The musician won the award against a strong field of competition, including his fellow Ghanaian artists Camidoh and Gyakie, and other artists from the West African region.
He was also nominated for the Best New Artiste award but lost out to Tems.
Black Sherif’s victory is a major one for Ghanaian music and a sign of the growing popularity of Afro beats across the world.
He is one of the most promising young artists in Africa, and his win at the Headies Awards will definitely boost his career even further.
