The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Hopeful for the Ablekuma Central Constituency, Jefferson Sackey, has expressed confidence that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will become the flag bearer to lead the party to the 2024 general polls.
Jefferson made this statement in an interview with Citi News after arriving at the Matehoko Quarters to cast his ballot in the ongoing New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primaries.
According to Jefferson, the New Patriotic Party needs a humble servant and a unifier to lead, and Dr. Bawumia is the most appropriate flag bearer to lead the party.
He mentioned that the process has been free and fair so far, with no confusion, and that all polling station executives have made up their minds.
“So far so good, it has been a very smooth election, especially here in the Ablekuma Central constituency. Looking at the enthusiasm of our polling station executives, it is so clear that all minds are made up, and everybody is enthused about the candidate they are going to vote for.”
More than 1,500 delegates are expected to cast their votes at the Matehoko Quarters in the Ablekuma Central Constituency.
Jefferson Sackey spoke to Citi News when he arrived at the venue.
