Prevent people from using Aburi Botanical Gardens as passage – Management to govt

The Management of Aburi Botanical Gardens is urging the government to implement laws that discourage residents from using the gardens as a shortcut to nearby communities.

In an interview with Citi News, Richard Agyakwa Forson, the Curator of Aburi Botanical Gardens, linked this concern to the evolving nature of the garden, influenced by the growing urbanization in the surrounding area.

Forson emphasized that this shift in the garden’s dynamics is adversely affecting its regular operations.

“The garden is situated within the town and so people pass through the garden to their homes. So the garden has become sort of a thoroughfare, which shouldn’t be.”

“So if the government will enforce the bye-laws to prevent people from doing that, it will help us,” he said.
