In the realm of Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Quality (HSSEQ), recognition of excellence is a powerful catalyst for progress. ED Consults Limited’s remarkable journey includes four consecutive prestigious awards over the last three years. These accolades not only testify to their commitment to championing a safety and health-conscious world but also underscore the significant strides they have made in achieving this feat. The guiding principle fuelling ED Consult’s advocacy has been the prioritization of HSSEQ.

Prioritizing Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Quality (HSSEQ) is driven by moral, legal, and financial considerations. From a moral standpoint, it reflects an organization’s commitment to the well-being of its workforce, acknowledging the inherent right of every employee to operate in a safe environment. It extends to fostering a culture that values human life and ensures the physical and mental health of employees. Legally, compliance is not just a best practice but an essential requirement. Failure to adhere to these regulations can lead to severe legal consequences, ranging from fines to lawsuits and operational shutdowns. Moreover, the financial rationale for prioritizing health and safety is evident. Investing in preventive measures and safety protocols not only enhances productivity and reduces absenteeism but also contributes to long-term cost savings.

ED Consults Limited’s journey, marked by consecutive wins for the last three years, includes the prestigious and recent Industry Impact Award for 2023 from the Africa Safety Awards for Excellence (AfriSAFE). The Torch Bearer and Popular Choice Awards in 2021, along with the Entrepreneur Recognition Award in 2022 from the Africa Safety Awards for Excellence (AfriSAFE), underscore their innovative approaches and dedication to HSSEQ. Recognized for outstanding contributions to Health, Safety, Security, Environment, and Quality (HSSEQ), position ED Consults Limited as an industry leader.

ED Consults Limited, led by founder Edward Debrah, actively collaborates with industry stakeholders, governmental bodies, and health and safety professionals to elevate safety standards. Their online advocacy, exemplified by numerous discussions with news outlets on safety and health issues, such as the Apeate disaster with Joy News and their involvement in the NEBOSH ESG conference in Edinburgh on November 16, 2023, underscores their commitment to being a proactive voice in HSSEQ matters. ED Consults Limited also collaborates with industry leaders to provide safety critical courses, including IOSH Managing Safely with Foyle Safety Company Limited (UK), NEBOSH Courses with SHEilds Limited (South Africa), and Lead Auditor Training with PECB Limited.

ED Consults Limited understands the importance of disseminating HSSEQ knowledge and expertise to benefit a broader audience. They have embarked on extensive education and awareness campaign, hosting seminars, workshops, and webinars to share best practices, emerging trends, and case studies from their successful projects.  This is evident in the first ever Safety Profit Conference convened by the founder to facilitate an inclusive way to disseminate knowledge and becoming a go-to source for insights on contemporary HSSEQ issues. The Safety Profit Conference returns next year, promising a bigger and better experience, and admission is entirely free.

ED Consults Limited’s advocacy journey after winning three prestigious awards is a testament to the transformative power of recognition. Beyond the accolades, ED Consults Limited has embraced the responsibility of influencing positive change in the HSSEQ landscape. Through knowledge-sharing, community outreach, innovation, and global collaboration, they have positioned themselves as industry leaders committed to creating safer and healthier workplaces worldwide. ED Consults Limited’s story serves as inspiration for others, illustrating the potential for advocacy and impact that follows in the wake of excellence.
