The Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah, says anyone who emerges as the parliamentary candidate for the party in the Dome-Kwabenya constituency will give the NDC a run for their money.
Delegates of the NPP are today casting their votes to elect parliamentary candidates in constituencies where the party has sitting Members of Parliament across the country.
The NPP internal poll is a close contest between the incumbent, Ms. Sarah Adwoa Sarfo, and Mr. Mike Oquaye Jnr, who is making another attempt. Candidate Ms. Sheela Sakyi Oppong Adoma is the third force.
Speaking in an interview with Citi News, Mr. Ahiagbah noted, “I have a feeling that the best elephant will win. Out of the three individuals who are putting themselves out, I think that any of them will give the NDC a good run for their money, and certainly, the NPP will retain the seat. The delegates have the solemn responsibility of whom they think they know can give us that opportunity to vote in December, and I think they will do that at the end of the day.”
Mr. Ahiagbah noted that the elections have been largely peaceful across the country, and pockets of issues recorded in some constituencies have been brought under control.
