Wonda World Properties Limited, the owners of the venue for the Afro Nation concert have withdrawn a case filed against Afro Nation organizers for using their land without permission.
According to a statement published on their website, the teams from Waterfront Development (also owned by Wonda World Properties Limited ) and Afro Nation reached an amicable agreement on the AfroNation 2019 Festival after a closed-door meeting.
The statement said Afro Nation Ghana has presented Waterfront Development with their security and event plans to Waterfront Development’s satisfaction.
“After positive discussions, Waterfront Development and AfroNation have reached an amicable agreement on the AfroNation 2019 Festival. Afro Nation Ghana has presented Waterfront Development with their security and event plans, all to Waterfront Development’s satisfaction.
The organizers of AfroNation Ghana, therefore, have Waterfront Development’s permission to hold the 2019 Festival.
Accordingly, Waterfront Development will withdraw its legal action against AfroNation and wishes them well,” the statement reads.
The Chief Executive Officer of Wonda World Properties, Nana Kwame Bediako, has confirmed also an agreement with organizers Afro Nation to allow the hosting of the concert on his property, the Laboma Beach.
In a video cited by Citi Showbiz, the businessman maintained that contrary to reports of him seeking to destroy the show, he is open to any initiative that will help sell Ghana brand and project the nation.
He encouraged Ghanaians to patronize the event as it will leave them with lasting memories.
“Ghana is a beautiful full of political and economic stability. I want everyone to know that my interest is never to destroy anything good that is coming to this country. We have sat down with AfroNation to settle the dispute that has led to rumours of this show being terminated”.
“I would like to say that its Christmas, and you would love to have a merry Christmas and enter the new year with happiness and great memories. On that note we have come together and decided that no matter what, whatever that has brought us together, we will stay stronger than what is pulling us apart”, he said.
Afro Nation is the biggest urban music festival brand in the world, and it starts from 27th to 30 December at the stunning Laboma beach; the first time it is taking place in Africa as part of Ghana’s Year of Return activities.
The four-day festival, which will see incredible performances from A-list stars such as Burna Boy, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Davido, will see festival patrons thrilled to trendy Afrobeats, hip-hop, UK rap, reggae and dancehall music from the best talents in the world.
