The 2020 New Patriotic Party parliamentary candidate for Sawla-Tuna-Kalba and Executive Director of NASCO Feeding Minds, Banasco Seidu Nuhu, has presented 50 laptop computers to some tertiary students in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District of the Savannah Region.
The initiative, dubbed One Tertiary Student, One Laptop, is part of a program to boost the IT experiences of tertiary students in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District.
According to the MP, more students will benefit from the donation in the next phase of the exercise.
At the event was the President of NASCO Feeding Minds, Mr. Ousman Umar, And some other volunteers from Spain.
This is part of the organization’s comprehensive ICT Literacy Education Project.
Also, 10 other students who were offered scholarships to study with the CISCO Network Academy received certificates from the CISCO NetAcard program.
They received their certificates and other souvenirs from Cisco after three months of online studies through a Nasco-Cisco partnership programme.
Nasco Feeding Minds continues to cater to the educational as well as socio-economic needs of women and children alike.
Benedicta, a student of UDS who spoke on behalf of her colleagues, said, “We would like to express our gratitude to NASCO Feeding Minds for the support. We highly appreciate the generosity, we are thrilled to have your support. Through your support we will be able to carry on with our courses without challenges, this will ensure that we are able to effectively study well in our various schools.”
