Goosie Tanoh, a flagbearer hopeful of opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) says he is confident that a return to the major values and tenets of the NDC will bring the opposition party back to power.
Mr. Tanoh who rallied a crowd of delegates and supporters at the World Vision Centre in Ho in the Volta Region said the party’s electoral fortunes started declining when Ghanaians started losing faith in the NDC’s resolve to stand by its founding principles.
Goosie Tanoh, the 63-year-old founder of the erstwhile National Reform Party, a splinter group from the NDC and a former special aide to former president Rawlings appealed to delegates to only vote for trustworthy persons who will resurrect the core values of the NDC to lead the party.
Mr. Tanoh decried the situation in which the NDC executives of the Afajato South Constituency denied him and his team the opportunity to engage with delegates in that constituency saying “it is sad that people will not listen to all sides before making a choice”.
He said even though he knows he will win the February 23 elections, he will continue to serve the NDC if he does not win.
Touching on some of his ambitions for the country should he become president, Mr. Goosie said he’ll focus on agriculture, Education, Health and Affordable housing.
