The Ministry of Information has taken stock of some food items and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kits from Bel aqua and Bel Beverages, to support the country’s fight against COVID-19.
300 packs of bel aqua water, 100 packs of Bel aqua Active, 100 packs of Big Boss, 40 packs of hand gloves, 400 bottles of hand sanitizers, 10 gallons of Bleach, 20 gallons of disinfectant were presented to the Ministry on Tuesday, April 14, 2020.
The products were received by the Deputy Information Minister, Pius Enam Hadidze.
Last week, the company presented a cheque for GHS 500,000 and other items to the COVID-19 Trust Fund set up by the government to aid the fight against the pandemic.
Bel-Aqua has also donated vital products like hand gloves, face masks and hand sanitizers, cleaning detergents as well as packs of Bel-Aqua Mineral water and assorted beverages worth GHS100,000 to the Police, Military and the Tema General Hospital which serves as one of the country’s isolation and treatment centres for COVID-19 cases.
Other beneficiary institutions also include Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and Greater Accra Regional Hospital (Ridge) and the Ghana Immigration Service.
This brings the company’s total contribution to the fight against COVID-19 to 600,000 – GHS500,000 in cash, and GHS 100,000 in kind.
So far, Ghana has recorded 636 Coronavirus cases.
The total number of deaths and recoveries are eight and 17 respectively.
