The Ga Traditional Council has advised parents to ensure their children’s safety during the period of laying in state of the late Ga Manye, Naa Dedei Omaedru III, as there may be individuals looking to take advantage of the situation.
The Council made this call during a press conference held in Accra on Tuesday, where the comprehensive funeral arrangements for the late Ga Manye were outlined.
The Chairman of the Protocol Committee for the funeral, Ambassador Sylvester Parker-Allotey, urged the general public to cooperate with all directives.
“During this period of laying our great queen to rest, we advise parents to ensure their children’s safety. It is crucial in this respect to protect them from any harm, as some individuals may take advantage of the situation. We urge everyone to remain vigilant and safeguard the well-being of our younger ones during this sensitive time,” he said.
He further indicated that due to the numerous activities planned, the MTTD will be helping to manage traffic during the funeral scheduled for Saturday, October 28, 2023.
