The Okere constituency of the National Democratic Congress (CPP) is calling for the removal of the Chairperson and leader of the party, Nana Akosua Frimpongmaa Sarpong Kumankumah, over her autocratic leadership.
The petitioner, Kwabena Okyere, is urging the National Executive Council (NEC) to immediately remove her for breaching the principles of the party.
He accused Madam Kumankumah of sidelining other national executives in her move to reorganize the party.
He also accused her of hijacking the party, adding that she had used her personal short code and unapproved leaflets for her reorganization agenda, which is not sanctioned by the Central Committee of the party.
“Comrade Frimpong Sarpong Kumankumah has failed woefully to unite the party and is further dividing the party with her actions and inactions. First and foremost, Comrade Frimpongmaa has created her own parallel structure embarking on the Party’s reorganization program, side-lining the other national executives. This action by the Chairperson and Leader will definitely not yield any gains for the party, as her self-acclaimed reorganization project is not backed by the majority of officers within the Party.”
