Traders and inhabitants at Abuakwa in the Ashanti Region have heaped praises on ASA Savings and Loans Limited for consistently organizing medical outreaches for them.
The traders who are clients of the financial institution say they hardly get the time to go for medical check-ups due to their trading activities.
The traders say they sometimes report to hospitals with different ailments and conditions which usually scares them.
ASA Savings and Loans has, however, designated periods to cater for the health needs of these traders to prevent their health conditions from deteriorating.
Some health workers were deployed to the Abuakwa community to screen inhabitants and traders of ailments including Malaria, typhoid, and blood pressure and check their blood sugar.
Over 100 inhabitants and traders participated in the medical screening spearheaded by ASA Savings and Loans Limited.
The medical screening targeted communities like Abuakwa, Manhyia, Koforidua and Akropong.
A trader, Ruth Osei Boateng said she and her colleagues have often benefitted from the screening exercise as they are given medications and advice on their health conditions.
The head of the medical team at the Soteria Anglican Medical Center, Reverend Antwi Boasiako disclosed that participants were diagnosed largely with neuropathy, low back pains, Malaria and respiratory conditions due to the weather.
He said some were given medications while others were given medical advice to prevent their conditions from getting worse.
Reverend Boasiako commended ASA Savings and Loans Limited for being consistent in attending to the health needs of its clients and the communities within which the company operates.
The branch Manageress for Abuakwa Business Center for ASA Savings and Loans, Joyce Teye explained that the event is in line with the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility in supporting communities.
She added “This is not the first time we do this for our clients. Sometimes some of them find it difficult to visit the hospitals because they cannot leave their businesses, so it helps them and the impact on the society is big”.
The Kwadaso Area Manager for ASA Savings and Loans Limited, Enoch Dzidodo Fiador pledged the company’s commitment to supporting the wellbeing of clients and inhabitants.
