The Economic Fighters League has taken a stand in response to mounting concerns from individuals regarding their investments with Ecobank EDC.
Leadership of the Nkrumahist movement on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, made a significant move with a protest at the bank’s headquarters in Accra, demanding transparency and accountability for the repeated delays in redemption payments to their clients.
Expressing solidarity with the thousands of Ecobank EDC clients affected by these delays, the leadership of the Economic Fighters League gathered outside the bank’s headquarters at Ridge to voice their concerns. Despite initial resistance from management, the leaders remained composed and determined to seek answers.
During a brief meeting with some senior officers of the branch, it was acknowledged that redemption payments have indeed posed a challenge. However, the bank provided assurances that efforts are currently underway to address the issue and expedite payments to affected clients.
Emphasizing the importance of Ecobank fulfilling its obligations, the Economic Fighters League stressed the need for the bank to lawfully manage and protect the investments of innocent investors for mutual benefit. They highlighted the significant impact that delayed redemption payments have on individuals and urged Ecobank to prioritize resolving the issue promptly.
As the Economic Fighters League continues to advocate for accountability and justice, they remain committed to monitoring the situation closely and ensuring that all redemption requests are honoured in a timely manner.
