The grand finale of Keyboard Idol took place at the Silicon House Productions, in Accra on Saturday, October 24, 2020.
Keyboard Idol is a keyboard talent competition that seeks to unearth hidden talents in young people below 15 years of age and who are living in Ghana.
Over 300 entries were submitted into the competition, with representation from across the sixteen regions of Ghana.
After 13 weeks of competition, the final stage of the competition saw Ewuradwoa Obuobia Boateng, Nana Kwaku Yeboah, Nana Yaw Nkrumah –Buandoh, Justice Quansah, Joel Yarney Jnr, Kelvin Yeboah Acheampong and Uriel Yeboah-Afreh compete for the grand prize of GHS 10,000.
The judges for the evening, Dr. Alfred P. Adaquaye, Kwame Yeboah, and Kokui Selormey Hanson all had a good time and were challenged, as they watched the young musicians put their best feet forward at each stage of the competition.
After the first and second rounds of the grand finale, Nana Kwaku Yeboah, Justice Quansah, Joel Yarney and Nana Yaw Nkrumah –Buandoh were evicted from the competition.
In the final round of the evening, Ewuradwoa Obuobia Boateng, Kelvin Yeboah Acheampong and Uriel Yeboah-Afreh each played with a band to display their dexterity and keyboard prowess, in a bid to determine the winner, with weighted scores of 20% votes from the public and 80% scores from the judges.
After a spectacular display by the finalist, Ewuradwoa Obuobia Boateng emerged the winner of the maiden edition of Keyboard Idol, winning the grand prize of GHS 10,000, a plaque, a tablet and paraphernalia from Santol Energy, 3 months free music training from Faith Works Music School, an Asanka device from Techaide, Keyboard Idol paraphernalia from Citi TV and other souvenirs.
Kelvin Yeboah Acheampong, who placed second, also won a cash prize of GHS 5,000, a plaque, a tablet and paraphernalia from Santol Energy, 3 months free music training from Faith Works Music School and Keyboard Idol paraphernalia from Citi TV.
Uriel Yeboah-Afreh placed third with a cash prize of GHS 3,000, a plaque, a tablet and paraphernalia from Santol Energy, 3 months free music training from Faith Works Music School and Keyboard Idol paraphernalia from Citi TV.
