Management of the Kibi Government Hospital in the Abuakwa South Municipality has expressed appreciation to leadership and members of the Church of Pentecost Kibi District for carrying out a mega cleanup exercise at the hospital.
The cleanup exercise which was widely patronized by members of the church forms part of the church’s activities to mark the 2024 Environmental Care Campaign sanctioned by the leadership of the Church of Pentecost.
From the pharmacy to the laboratory, male ward to female wards to the maternity and OPD, the members cleaned and mopped the wards and cleared all bushy surroundings at the hospital.
In an interview with Citi News after the cleanup exercise a Health Service Administrator at the Kibi Government Hospital Isaac Amanor expressed satisfaction with the work done and called on other organizations to emulate same.
“I will commend the entire leadership and members of the Church of Pentecost for what they have done. When we first received their letter of intent, we thought it was just a few people who would come but they came very early according to the time they gave on the letter, and we had to divide them into 5 groups.”
“I coordinated them, and the work went very fast, and I must say their dedication and commitment towards the work, especially the elders and pastor who actively participated in it. I would therefore call on the general public and other organizations to emulate this and come to donate to the hospital too.”
The secretary of the Kibi District Church of Pentecost Stephen Siaw spoke to Citi News about the essence of the exercise.
“As far as maintaining and keeping our environment is concerned our leadership instituted the Environmental Care Campaign and this year too, we are doing it just to ensure that we keep our surroundings neat. We chose the hospital because a number of people visit the hospital for medical care, hence the need to beef up sanitation and help with the cleaning of the place.”
“We can also undertake evangelism here with this activity because it will encourage others to join our noble church. We will also encourage the youth to as a matter of urgency come out in their numbers anytime projects like this are being done”.
The Head Pastor of the Kibi District of the Church of Pentecost Ebenezer Kwasi Addo touched on the health importance of the exercise to all who patronize the hospital and also called on the youth to actively participate in nation-building.
