Veteran Ghanaian sports administrator Emmanuel Owusu-Ansah dead

Dr. Emmanuel Owusu-Ansah, the Chief Operating Officer of the 2023 African Games has passed away according to multiple sources.

The death of the veteran sports administrator was first confirmed by the President of the Africa Arm-wrestling Federation, Charles Osei Asibey.

Dr. Emmanuel Owusu-Ansah, has sadly kicked the bucket.
The COO of Accra 2023 African Games, Sports Administrator and Coach was the former NSA Chief Executive.

Dr. Owusu Ansah is another encyclopedia of sports, gone.

Dr. Owusu-Ansah, formerly at the helm of the National Sports Authority (NSA), was revered as a repository of sports wisdom, his expertise likened to an encyclopedia.

Among his numerous achievements, Dr. Owusu-Ansah, once a prominent national chief athletics coach authored the widely acclaimed book “Principles of Abundant Living.”

He was instrumental in founding the Department of Sports Studies at the University of Ghana’s College of Education, concurrently serving as Director of the Sports Directorate at the University of Ghana, Legon.

Internationally, Dr. Owusu-Ansah left an indelible mark as a member of the ECOWAS Body of Sports Experts, contributing significantly to the ECOWAS Sports Policy. He also lent his expertise to the African Union Team of Sports Experts, playing a pivotal role in crafting the 10-year Sports Development Policy for Sustainable Development of Sport in Africa.

In 2022, Dr. Owusu-Ansah’s exceptional contributions to sports development were duly recognized with the prestigious African Sports Management Association (ASMA) Gold Award. His unwavering dedication and unparalleled expertise have undoubtedly shaped the sports landscape, serving as a beacon of inspiration for countless individuals across the continent.
