A demolition exercise at Adjiringanor 69 Block Factory in the Greater Accra Region has left some shop owners stranded and uncertain about their next steps.
Some shop owners who spoke to Citi News mentioned that they received no prior notice regarding the demolition.
They attributed the demolition to a court order in a case of land dispute.
One of the litigants who claimed victory in the court case told Citi News off-camera that he takes responsibility for the demolition.
One of the affected persons, Clement Anakwa, spoke to Citi News expressing his frustration.
“We said they are coming to demolish the buildings here. This is my mother’s shop and this is where she operates her business. They didn’t serve any notice. They only told us that the previous owner lost the case in court and there was a new owner.
“Even if you are the new owner, at least a day or two notice to relocate will help us. But there was no notice, they only came here this morning with police officers,” one of the affected shop owners said.
