Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, Mussa Dankwah, has urged flagbearer hopefuls of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) not to be complacent over results of the survey conducted by his organisation in collaboration with Citi TV/Citi FM.
The survey conducted among NPP delegates revealed that Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, leads the former Trade and Industry Minister, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen and MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong in the race to lead the NPP in 2024.
Dr Bawumia leads with 34.8% of the votes, followed by Kyerematen with 27.9% and Kennedy Agyapong, 12.5%. The rest of the candidates attracted less than 1% in the survey, while 8.9% declined to reveal who they intend to vote for and 15.10% were undecided.
However, in a run-off, the poll finds Mr Kyerematen leading Dr Bawumia with 38% to 37% of the votes.
Sixteen (16%) of the delegates were undecided, and 9% declined to disclose who they would vote for in the event of a run-off.
Mr Dankwah therefore urged the flagbearer hopefuls to better understand the delegates in order to shape their messages in ways that will be captivating and appealing to suit their needs.
“Nobody should be comfortable with this result, to be very honest with you. You need to understand the mindsets of those who said they are undecided. They have to be targeted very well. They also have to shape a campaign message very well. Not only that, but they also have to look at the key factors that are making people not make their choices,” he stated.
